AAF Attack Group Air Liaison (ALO) Advisor

Train and advise AAF ALOs on air-to-ground integration (AGI), terminal air controller, and ground force commander (GFC) advisor roles and responsibilities as well as submitting target packages in the Afghan National Information Management System (NIMS) in coordination with the intelligence section. Develop AAF sustainable ALO on-the-job-training (OJT) programs and instruction. Operate in functions similar to a USAF Air Support Operation Group and an intelligence targeting/support cell but shall be focused on joint planning and integration function. Advise and assist the AAF on Air Mobility Liaison Officer (AMLO) capabilities to augment airdrop delivery and resupply missions. Provide mentorship for ALO Continuation Training.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as Instructor pilot/Joint Terminal Attack Controller/Military pilot
  • Must be a US Citizen 
  • Must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements from CRC at Ft. Bliss, TX.   
  • Must continue to maintain CENTCOM Mod 13 and other deployment-related requirements for the Afghanistan theater of operations     
  • Must be able to receive and maintain a current/active Afghanistan visa.
  • Must be in possession of and maintain an appropriate-level current/active security clearance with eligibility to receive/maintain a NATO clearance for the duration of the deployment      
  • Must be willing to work and live in austere and hostile environments in Afghanistan, and understanding of the possibility to be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan, as allowed by the contract 
  • Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment, as required.  Force protection will be provided by authorized sources.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
  • Must comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders 

Desired: 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the military aviation field of either pilot/terminal controller or aviation TOC staff
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous OCONUS experience (Prefer Afghanistan or Iraq)
  • Experience in Military BN/BDE staff. Understand MDMP concept
  • Understand ROE (Rules of Engagement)
  • Aviation Observer Controller experience
  • Understand the capabilities of the C130/C208/MI-17/A29/MD530/Scan Eagle
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret and NATO security clearance.
