AAF Student Manager-TA

Provide training support in the development of an enabled and capable AAF A7, with a focus on in-country training, management, and tracking/reporting of skill levels and distribution.  Conduct and attend advising sessions in accordance with schedule developed by the J-Lead.  Document AAF training sessions and provide a monthly analysis relative to CJ7 training objectives.  Coordinate with CJ7 on the development, briefing and execution of AAF decrees and plans to define AAF in-country training policy.  These policies will define the interactions, roles, responsibilities, authority limits, and processes used in the training functions.  Instruct in development of transition plans for maintenance technician in-country training goals from present AAF training programs and out-of-country training. Coordinate these plans with CJ4M, CJ1/7 trainers, Group staffs, and AAF equivalents.  Instruct in development of transition plans for aircrew in-country training from present state AAF training programs and out-of-country training.  Coordinate these plans with CJ1/7, CJ3, Group staffs, and AAF equivalents.  Instruct planning measures to achieve and maintain AAF manning levels in line with current and planned Tashkil.  Focus shall be given to developing plans to achieve targeted distribution of skill levels and ratings.  Train AAF personnel to coordinate AAF in-country training issues with the appropriate Afghan and Coalition staffs. 


  • Minimum of 8 years in Human Resources/Training or related area of expertise
  • Must be a US Citizen 
  • Must possess a Secret clearance
  • Must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements from CRC at Ft. Bliss, TX.    
  • Must continue to maintain CENTCOM Mod 13 and other deployment-related requirements for the Afghanistan theater of operations     
  • Must be able to receive and maintain a current/active Afghanistan visa 
  • Must be in possession of and maintain an appropriate-level current/active security clearance with eligibility to receive/maintain a NATO clearance for the duration of the deployment      
  • Must be willing to work and live in austere and hostile environments in Afghanistan, and understanding of the possibility to be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan, as allowed by the contract 
  • Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment, as required.  Force protection will be provided by authorized sources.   
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing 
  • Must comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders 


  • Previous OCONUS experience. (Prefer Afghanistan or Iraq)
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Documented experience in HR or Training Management
  • Documented certifications in either HR or Training fields
  • 10 years’ experience in HR/Training field.
  • Prefer experience on Military BN/BDE staff and understand the MDMP concept
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret and NATO security clearance.
