Crane Program Supervisor - Inspection

PAE is looking for a Crane Program Supervisor – Inspection to support one of its DOD customers in Guam:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance inspection, load test of all category cranes, rigging gears and miscellaneous equipment identified in the NAVFAC P307 and aerial (bucket trucks) platform trucks in accordance with the NAVFAC P300 and other publication governing inspection and test procedures. 
  • Daily overall tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Supervise the personnel performing the duties of a weight handling equipment (WHE) inspector, test director and trackage inspector.
    • Ensure safety and environmental compliance.
    • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with all applicable standards.
    • Prioritize the critical equipment identified by the government.
    • Follow up with and track the compliance of crane safety advisories, Equipment Deficiency Memoranda and Engineering evaluations.
    • Work with client and customers, answering to and providing daily written correspondences and adjusting assigned workloads as directed or as needed to meet mission requirements.
    • Perform WHE fleet analysis and long-term fleet planning.
    • Assigned government property custodian for respective program.
    • Plan and manage short-term and long-term projects and budgets.
    • Compile vehicle and equipment cost analysis reports.
    • Ensure all certification package documents are accurate and that test procedures are in accordance with applicable standards such as the NAVFAC P300, P307, OEM, OSHA, ANSI and other publication governing maintenance, inspection and testing.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have knowledge and experience of government specific transportation contracting and trade technical to include fleet management of maintenance and operations and OEM awareness, preferred Navy contracts.
  • Must have knowledge and working experience of shop equipment and hand/pneumatic/electronic diagnostic tools and computers.
  • Must have knowledge of the minimum regulations of fleet maintenance for: NAVFAC P300/ P307/OSHA /ANSI/ EPA / FAR / DOT / Navy and federal government requirements.
  • Must be able to create and submit accurate reports, estimates, graphs, and flowcharts, and develop operating procedures.
  • Must be able to work with and read technical manuals, diagrams and drawings.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with fleet maintenance systems, such as MAXIMO and Mitchell data management.
  • Must be able to identify WHE maintenance tools and equipment and personnel training requirements.
  • Must be able to read and research part manuals and submit part request orders.
  • Must be able to provide input for improvement and innovation for the WHE Program and the maintenance and operation services.
  • Must be able to accept additional job duties as assigned and conduct subordinate evaluations and counseling.
  • Must have strong human relations and sound decision-making skills to resolve issues.
  • Must be able to pass and obtain course certifications required for crane personnel, in accordance with NAVFAC P307 section 13 within 180 days of being hired in this position.
  • Must be able to obtain other required WHE certifications within the first twelve (12) months of being hired in this position.
  • Must have strong computer skills, to include knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and web-based data posting programs.
  • Desired: Bachelor’s degree; Trade certification and working knowledge and experience in the Transportation field; Ten (10) years in a leadership position; Five (5) years in maintenance shop/ hands-on supervisory experience
