eDiscovery Project Manager

An eDiscovery Project Manager (PM) is responsible for coordinating the collection, tracking, processing, hosting, review, and production of Electronically Stored Information (ESI) as well as hard copy material to support Department of Justice (DOJ) investigators and attorneys during the discovery phase of litigation.

  • A successful eDiscovery PM is able to simultaneously manage 6 to 10 moderately active and moderately sized cases. The PM must seamlessly work with PAE managers and technical staff as well as DOJ attorneys and case managers; all having varying levels technical skills.
  • PM must be able to manage small teams of individuals both imbedded with the attorneys and at our document center.
  • A successful eDiscovery PM will have advanced to expert knowledge of data hosting platforms such as Concordance, iCONECT, Relativity, and Venio. In addition, the PM should possess a working understanding of Technology Assisted Review (TAR) tools like the Brainspace, Relativity Assisted Review, or Equivio. Finally, the PM should be knowledgeable in Electronic File Processing (EFP) tools such as IPRO eCapture, LexisNexis LAW, and Venio.
  • A successful eDiscovery PM will have experience plotting out and implementing workflows from the evidence collection phase all the way through document production.
  • A successful eDiscovery PM will have experience formulating project budgets, developing level-of-effort (LOE) projections, maintaining and updating project tracking logs, tracking case financials/spend, and monitoring scope.
  • A successful eDiscovery PM will have experience using industry standard chain-of-custody (COC) procedures and be familiar with forensic approaches for preserving data integrity. This includes managing COC documentation and coordinating hand-off of evidence between multiple internal and external parties.
  • A successful eDiscovery PM will be adept at absorbing diffuse information, critically analyzing it, preparing summary reports, and presenting the same to internal as well as external stakeholders.
  • A successful eDiscovery PM will need to be able work with internal corporate resources such as Finance, HR, Accounting, and Procurement in order to facilitate project needs and requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. 
  • At least four (4) years of experience in an eDiscovery management position, or progressively more responsible supervisory and management experience on major litigation support projects, including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  •  Prior experience managing a small team of individuals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Adobe Acrobat, required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Need to be proactive, organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be willing to work on a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or Juris Doctor (JD) is desirable.  
  • At least 3 years of in-depth experience using Relativity is desired.
  • Experience using Venio, iConnect and/or Concordance is desired.
  • Prior experience using Relativity Conceptual and Structured Analytics, Equivio, or similar technology is desired.    
  • Assisted Review and/or Continuous Active Learning experience desired.
  • Experience using Brainspace is desired.
  • Certifications preferred: Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA), Certified eDiscovery Specialist (CEDS), Project Management Professional (PMP).
