ELT Program Manager

The ELT Program Manager will be responsible for the overall administration and successful execution in supporting all aspects of the program. They will coordinate all activities in accordance with campaign objectives while providing general expertise of all required tasks & personnel.  Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assign tasking and guidance to fulfill training requirements
  • Provide ELT to ANASOC and AAF TAAC-A using Defense Language Institute (DLI) or other approved curricula to support the ELT Programs.
  • Oversee Afghan Literacy Training for personnel requiring improvements in writing, comprehension, mathematics, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Oversee the planning, design and delivery of all English language instruction, Literacy and Office Administration training.
  • Oversee lesson plans, presentations, visual aids and other training materials as required
  • Deliver classroom-based training to students of varying proficiencies
  • Research and develop specialized language content (ESP) as required
  • Oversee all test taking preparation and strategies
  • Design, create and administer various training assessments and evaluations
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required program reports and records
  • Pursue continuous improvement of training services and products
  • Set up, rearrange, improvise and maintain physical training spaces as required
  • Mentor local national English trainers as required in support of the Afghan National Army Special Operations Command (ANASOC) and the Afghan Air Force (AAF) Train, Assist, Advise Command-Air (TAAC–A)
  • Observe and obey all established safety procedures and protocols
  • Manage and lead meetings, training, professional development, exercises and drills as needed


  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be in possession of and maintain a Secret level security clearance with eligibility to receive/maintain a NATO clearance for the duration of the deployment    
  • Must be in possession of a current/active US tourist Passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility
  • Must be able to receive and maintain a current/active Afghanistan visa
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a field related to Education
  • Minimum 5 years teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or English as a Foreign Language (EFL)
  • Minimum 5 years developing curriculum to include design, scope and sequence, adaptation, resource identification and implementation, detailed lesson creation, activity design, supporting materials creation and assessment.
  • High degree of competency with Microsoft Office productivity suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Superb interpersonal skills, with proven ability to exercise respect and cultural sensitivity
  • Must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements from CRC at Ft. Bliss, TX.  
  • Must continue to maintain CENTCOM Mod 13 and other deployment-related requirements for the Afghanistan theater of operations   
  • Must be willing to work and live in austere and hostile environments in Afghanistan, and understanding of the possibility to be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan, as allowed by the contract
  • Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment, as required.  Force protection will be provided by authorized sources. 
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
  • Must comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders
