Engineer, Senior - DEAL

Duties, Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information:
Ability to work well as a team and as an individual with minimal supervision. 
This position will serve as a Data Engineering and Analysis Liaison Engineer for the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) Telemetry Systems Branch’s Data Engineering and Analysis Section, providing flight test support, project management and engineering support for real-time and post-flight data collection, data analysis, data distribution, and data management to current and future T&E programs.
o Coordinate with test teams and programs to identify data and data analysis requirements early in test program development to ensure test data satisfies analysis and reporting requirements.
o Work with flight-test engineers, flight-test teams, ATR personnel, other NAVAIR organizations, and contractors to define immediate and long-term flight test process and tool requirements, support process and tool development and deployment, and provide user training. o Coordinate with NAWCAD Flight Test Engineers (FTEs) to identify real-time processing and display requirements for all aspects of flight test conduct.
o Support the DEA section's Data Engineering and Analysis Liaison (DEAL) implementation, including staffing, defining duties, developing training requirements, and mentoring.
o Provide support while transitioning overall licensing, installation, and program management tasking for NAVAIR's MATLAB enterprise license to the DAiTA organization.
o Experience in the development, testing, and implementation of flight-test data analysis systems is required.
o A working knowledge of current, in development, and planned ATR post-flight tools and processes is required.
o Expert knowledge of aircraft flight-test principles and practices is required.
o Familiarity with major NAVAIR data initiatives and emerging technologies is required.
o Working knowledge of NAVAIR’s enterprise MATLAB license required.
o Microsoft Office skills required.
o Some travel and overtime will be required to support flight test operations, which may include overtime hours on late days and/or weekends, and travel for remote tests at both land- and sea-based locations.
o Must possess a valid driver’s license
o All candidates will be required to pass Drug Screenings

Education Required:
Undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace, mechanical, or computer engineering fields, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
Security Clearance(required):
• Ability to obtain and maintain US DoD Secret Security clearance, throughout employment.

• Work Conditions:
• Conditions will vary. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees. Vision abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
• Some work will be performed in aircraft hangar or ramp environments with associated physical requirements and risks.
• Some travel and overtime will be required.•
