Facility Security Officer



POSITION SUMMARY

The Facility Security Officer will be assigned to the PAE Base Operation Support contract at the Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. The FSO is responsible for providing the necessary resources, processes and procedures to ensure full compliance with the security requirements outlined in Contract for personnel on the contract for this site. The FSO will be available to assist as needed with any issues raised regarding physical or personnel security.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures personnel security and integrity of services delivered to the Federal Government. Works directly with client security, program management, and Human Resources to handle any personnel background, integrity or security concerns.
  • Confirms all security issues and incidents are recorded and reported to the client’s security office.
  • Leads and assists with internal investigations into any criminal concern an employee may be involved in regardless of reporting  status as directed by HR and program leadership.
  • Handles proper reporting and investigations for any known or suspected misuse or loss of client owned equipment, credential loss, PII loss, or potential integrity concerns.
  • Maintain personnel security files at office and ensure contents are complete and up to date.
  • Lead initial security training, refresher briefings and debriefs for all employees.
  • Complete audits to ensure internal security records are current.
  • Ensure proper submission of background investigation checks for new hires and reinvestigations.
  • Review routine compliance and integrity audits for accuracy and potential concerns. Provides and executes action plan based on review.
  • All other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • FSO must have three (3) years of experience as FSO.
  • FSO shall have a Facility Security Officer certification per the NISPOM requirements laid out in AFI 16‑1404 Air Force Information Security Program.
  • The FSO shall have a working knowledge of the overall security clearance management process via Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and Electronic Questionnaire for Investigation Processing (e-QIP) and practical (hands-on) experience in managing secure facilities (Secret and below) through the Defense Security Service and SCIF management under any government agency. 
  • The FSO shall have experience in system functions, security polices, technical security safeguards, and operational security experience with NISPOM and/or AFI 16‑1404 Air Force Information Security Program (or equivalent Federal Security Program).


EDUCATION

  • The FSO must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
