Business Operations and Finance Senior Analyst

Position:  Business Operations and Finance Senior Analyst

Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing and dynamic organization. In this role, you will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, and analysis supporting the National Security Solutions (NSS) business unit within PAE. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional communication skills and have a collaborative, strategic work style. This is the perfect position for a strategic thinker who is a highly analytical problem solver, and enjoys being challenged, working in a hands on capacity as part of a fast-paced team. We are looking for someone who is able to see the big picture, but is diligent managing details.


  • Lead the creation of documentation of best practices and standard processes across the NSS business unit
  • Help document key Program Finance processes to include but not limited to:
    • Month-end close
    • EAC Creation and Maintenance
    • EAC review and analysis
    • T&M Analysis Modeling
    • Billing Checklists
    • Funding Management and Oversight
    • WD & SCA related pricing changes
  • Develop and maintain desktop procedures for the day in the life of Program Financial Analyst
  • Support the Business Operations Director on special assignments
  • Prepare monthly forecast review, risk & opportunities assessment and variance analysis for NSS
  • Help coach and train Program Financial Analysts as needed
  • Develop long-range financial models to help track key performance metrics
  • Act as a key member of the NSS team to help drive profitable growth
  • Track and report continuous improvement opportunities
  • Be a trusted business partner for business areas within NSS
  • Collaborate across organizations/functions including sales, operations, recruiting, HR, contracts and  project management
  • Help manage DSO and Cash Flow


Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
  • 7+ years of finance experience in forecasting and annual budget preparation across multiple financial disciplines
  • Experienced in using Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Costpoint and Hyperion
  • Experience with Organizational level Finance in support of various programs and/or projects
  • Experience preparing and reviewing EACs
  • Solid understanding of revenue recognition (ASC 606)
  • Experience with Time & Materials, Firm Fixed Price, and Cost Plus type Government contracts
  • Working knowledge of Indirect rates, rate pools, and allocations
  • Solid Understanding of GAAP, Revenue Recognition and Deferred Revenue
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations)
  • Strong business acumen coupled with financial prudence
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast paced challenging environment
