Food Services Supervisor

The Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission is to provide Naval Warfare Centers, the Fleet, and other customers with accurate undersea, surface, and in-air three-dimensional tracking data and other unique Atlantic test facilities.  In support of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and Fleet readiness assessment and training. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments.

Responsible for the coordinating of Food Service functions between the Administrative office, the Commissary, and the Main Dining Facility on the AUTEC Project.


  • Oversee the Order Clerk, Materials Coordinator, and the Assistant Supervisors in the daily operations of the Office, the Commissary, Main Dining and the staff within each area.
  • Assist in determining yearly goals and objectives for each subordinate personnel consisting of US civilian and Local National (LN) personnel and then reviewing and evaluating at year end.
  • Provide excellent customer service and establish a good working relationship with vendors and customers from all levels of the contract, and all employees within the Food Services department.
  • Maintain Tree Frog with departmental US civilians’ information for evacuation purposes and ensuring department is prepared for various Hurricane stages.
  • Ensure personnel stays current on food health and safety trainings along with other government required trainings.
  • Accountability of department property and by ordering enough supplies on hand for the needs of the staff to work most efficiently.
  • Responsible for weekly scheduling of staff according to the project’s needs to maintain, prepare, serve meals with cleanup in the most efficient manner and approving of staff timesheets.
  • Analyze food costs and developing weekly menus that will meet the governed NAVSUP’s ration costs and the taste preference of customers.
  • Oversees the office personnel facilitate with administrative duties of writing correspondence, maintaining department daily operation forms, organizing and archiving of files, scheduling of outside contractors visit, and ordering of all materials, supplies, and uniforms for the employees, office and Main Dining Facility.
  • Oversee Main Dining Assistant Supervisors in the overall operations of the Dining Facility in regards to safety and sanitation of food storage, preparation, and service according to Florida’s Health Code standard in an efficient manner along with assuring the maintenance of equipment and building is kept up.
  • Maintain a variety of financial and other records per ISO and contract standards.
  • Perform and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Assist in all levels of the inventory procedures.
  • Review purchase order receipts and maintain a suspense file for the acquisition of government assets. 
  • Maintain  FEDLOG, STORES Web, Internet and other databases to research all acquisitions and dispositions. 
  • Conduct monthly 100% internal inventories.
  • May perform additional follow-up and research for administrative errors and unaccountable assets. 
  • Assist the Food Services Manager in reviewing and updating standard practice policies and procedures, working instructions, and miscellaneous administrative reporting functions through the electronic database.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience working in an institutional type food service or military supply environment and Data entry preferred.
  • Must be P/C literate with a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must possess or be able to obtain Food Managers Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be able to work in walk-in freezers and coolers
  • Flexible work schedule including weekends/holidays.

•      Ability to multi-task, learn and implement new programs/procedures and be flexible in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to learn and execute programs applicable to the AUTEC / DSCP Supply network (i.e. MAXIMO, and STORS). 

•      Self-motivated, detail oriented, and capable of working with limited supervision.

•      Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with no restrictions and move boxes overhead height.

•      Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Occasionally climb ladders
  • Strong leadership skills and capable of working in a multi-cultural work environment.
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance.
  • Valid Driver’s License and passport will be required.
