Heavy Equipment Operator

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be based at one of two PAE sites in Iraq. This position will report to the LCC Management Team. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work but are not necessarily all inclusive.

• Operate a variety of construction heavy equipment and fork lifts.
• Interpret design plans and plan work.
• Determine safe dig parameters and follow established procedures.
• Document dig plan as required
• Perform safety inspection of heavy equipment, as required.
• Document inspections as required.
• Operate equipment for building construction and movement of cargo or equipment.
• Operate construction heavy equipment such as, loaders and forklifts, for cargo movements and construction.
• Lubricate, check fluids, and perform safety inspection and minor maintenance as required prior to operation of any equipment, per Preventative Maintenance Check Sheets (PMCS).
• Arrange equipment maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations or as directed by the Vehicle Maintenance Facility (but around planned work when possible). Inform job site person in charge of impending maintenance schedules.
• Comply with all ESH Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
• Provide documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate legal documentation.
• Work to achieve goals and contractual commitments.
• Perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of heavy equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
o Four (4) years’ experience in construction heavy equipment operation, such as forklifts, skid steer, backhoe, and loaders.
o 200 hours of routine equipment operation.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
o Able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum.
o Able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of heavy equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.
• Education: A high school diploma or GED.
• Licenses and Certifications:
o Valid drivers’ and truck drivers’ licenses from Home of Record.
o Certificate for equipment operation.
• Security Vetting: Must possess an active DOD or DOS Secret security clearance and maintain eligibility for the duration of the contract.
• Language Skills: Strong, professional, oral and written English communication skills.
• Citizenship: US Citizenship is required.
• Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination.

• Previous out of home country experience is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus.
• Experience working with PAE.

• Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
• Experience providing excellent customer services.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
• Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
• Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
• Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
