Lead Systems Engineer

PAE is seeking a Lead System Engineer (LSE) in the areas of border security. The candidate will be leading the planning and execution of all System Engineering related activities for land and maritime surveillance systems and will manage the deployed system engineers throughout CONUS and OCONUS. The candidate will be lead all effort related to assessments, design, implementation, test, training, sustainment and transfer of capabilities of surveillance systems to various foreign nations. The candidate will lead both pre and post project award efforts and will serve as the primary technical point of contact with vendors and subcontractors.

The candidate will lead a team of system engineers and will require to interact with Program Managers, Ops/Line Management, Procurement, senior technical personnel, and various other functional or support organizations.

The position requires frequent travel or short term deployments

Required Skills:          
 

  • 5 years overall experience and demonstrated ability to develop and implement a surveillance or critical infrastructure protection system to include system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, critical design reviews, testing and sustainment planning
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant professional engineering experience
  • Proven experience with developing and executing trade studies and analyses of alternatives for land and maritime radars, electro optical cameras, infrared cameras, unattended sensors, automatic identification systems, and common operating systems
  • Proven experience in working with VHF, UHF, HF and other communication systems and concepts
  • Experience in modeling and simulation  and coverage analysis
  • Experience with Integration and Test of complex radar and cameras systems
  • Must be able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines and production schedules
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced testing environment
  • Excellent skills in developing white papers and presentations for senior leadership and US Government

Required Education:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Systems Engineering. May substitute experience for education.

Desired Skills:

  • Willingness to travel
  • Experience CBP, DHS, Middle East and SE Asia
  • 3 years experience in developing and implementing a complete surveillance system
  • Secret Security Clearance
