Night Shift Lighthouse Supervisor

The Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission is to provide Naval Warfare Centers, the Fleet, and other customers with accurate undersea, surface, and in-air three-dimensional tracking data and other unique Atlantic test facilities.  In support of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and Fleet readiness assessment and training. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all aspects of running the Lighthouse Café on the AUTEC ASD project.
  • Control profitability by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining balanced inventory levels, monitoring labor costs, and managing budgets to maintain profitable restaurant.
  • Prepare and maintain a standard and specialty menu that supports the needs of residents, range users and all other personnel that visit the AUTEC project.
  • Monitor facilities for maintenance needs, submit requests for repair to work control and follow through to completion.
  • Accompany food inspector during monthly facility inspections and ensure any necessary corrective action is taken.
  • Will assist with creations of recipes for menu items, supervise line cooks to ensure quality controls are adhered too and assist with control of inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 10 years related experience working in restaurant management preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License and passport will be required.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.  
  • Familiar with bookkeeping and inventory systems in a service-driven environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments, work with little supervision and work well under pressure.
  • Lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds of supplies of varying types.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities
  • Security Clearance must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance.
