Ordnance Information System-Retail Data Base Administrator II

The Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission is to provide Naval Warfare Centers, the Fleet, and other customers with accurate undersea, surface, and in-air three-dimensional tracking data and other unique Atlantic test facilities.  In support of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and Fleet readiness assessment and training. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments.

Responsible for the generation and management of records relating to requisitions, receipts, issues, expenditures, inventory management and control of all ordnance and ordnance related material in the AUTEC Ordnance Information System (OIS-R) data base.  


  • Track all ordnance/ordnance material for the AUTEC Project Per. NAVSUP-724 and related publications in SIPRNet.
  • Requisition ordnance/ordnance material for the USN and other services as requested.
  • Generate 1348 documents for AMMO evolutions, exercises, service and training.
  • Maintain the data base and notifications as required for all Ammunition Information Notices (AIN), and Notice of Ammunition Reclassification (NAR’s).
  • Extract Data as required for the MK-48/MK-54/MK-46 torpedoes.
  • Perform the duties of the Ordnance Safety Observer during ordnance loading and offloading operations.
  • Interface with the AMMOLANT and other USN Ordnance organizations as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.  


  • Associate’s degree or military equivalent.
  • Minimum two years related experience working with the Ordnance Information System (OIS).
  • Minimum two years related experience working with the Navy Conventional Ammunition Sentencing Program.
  • Completion of Ammunition Supply Administration Course.
  • Completion of AMMO-18 and AMMO-49 Naval Explosives Safety Course.
  • Completion of Navy Conventional Ammunition Sentencing Course.
  • Completion of Mk-48 Data Extraction and accounting course.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Lift/Carry/Pull up to 50 pounds of material/equipment.
  • Pass a yearly HEP physical.
  • Must be able to interface with all levels of personnel in multi-cultural team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • This position requires the individual to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance; US Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
  • A valid US Passport and Driver’s License is required.
