RSC Assistant Engineer

PAE is actively seeking an RSC Assistant Engineer to support the Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) contract at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego, CA.

Essential Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Performs daily routine scheduled maintenance
  • Operates machinery and equipment
  • Stands a 12-hour watch while underway, inspecting equipment and recording temperatures, pressures, and verifying proper operation.
  • Maintains daily logs
  • Assists Deck Department operations as required.
  • Maintains potable water level, monitors holding tanks
  • Keeps an inventory of tools and spares
  • Ensures engineering spaces are clean and orderly at all times
  • Participates in drills, safety meetings, and training
  • Other tasks as determined by Chief Engineer

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous shipboard mechanical experience
  • Oiler/QMED preferred
  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Basic working knowledge of marine equipment and systems
  • Knowledge of safe working practices and procedures
  • Ability to read and comprehend Operations & Maintenance Manuals, and Technical drawings
  • MMD with STCW-95
  • Must have the ability to obtain an Interim Security Clearance (or transfer) in a timely manner, and maintain a US Government (DoD) (Top) Secret Clearance for this position on the SCORE Contract.
  • Proficient and comfortable with computers including network and Microsoft products
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and stairs
  • Must be able to swim
