Security Coordinator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Day to day functions):

  • Initiate and submit SF-85P or SF-86 using JPAS or OPM Portal or other government system, as needed
  • Critical review of SF-85P and SF-86’s for candidates and working with candidates to make corrections
  • Maintain security files at office and ensure contents are complete and up to date
  • Conduct initial security training and refresher briefings for all employees
  • Assist with quarterly audits to ensure security records are up to date
  • Assist with sending VAR’s/VAL’s to customers when necessary and in a timely manner
  • Helps to ensures compliance with the NISPOM and other government requirements


Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested with reasonable supervision


Minimum Experience, Education and Licensure:

  • Associate’s Degree or 3 years of relevant work experience in a traditional office enviorment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • At least .5 - 1 year previous experience working in personnel security or background investigations
  • Computer skills required: MS Office, Outlook, JPAS
