Senior Electronic File Specialist

  • Work with L Street Lab team members and IT staff to support the following phases of the eDiscovery process:
    • Data processing
    • Data hosting
    • Analytics and searching
    • Production
  • Provide technical support to Project Managers, Government Contract Officer Representative, Government Case Managers, and Case Team (attorneys and paralegals).
  • Manage the following operations in LAW PreDiscovery:
    • Loading and processing raw data and troubleshooting processing errors
    • Creating and troubleshooting load files (DAT, OPT, LFP, LST)
    • Performing Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
    • Creating file inclusion and file exclusion lists and Creating file extension reports
    • Imaging native files to TIFF and Branding/endorsing images
    • Password cracking
    • Script writing to extract trouble documents using Powershell or similar scripts, highly desirable
  • Manage the following operations in Relativity:
    -Data loading using Relativity Desktop Client
    -Creating views and editing tagging layouts
    -Running scripts
    -Creating Search Term Report (STR) and Saved Searches
    -Running Structured Analytics
    -Creating Near Textual Duplicate Views
    -Running Email Threading
    -Creating imaging sets, OCR sets, and production sets
    -End user training and support
  • Experience with Office Applications and Text Editors:
    -Microsoft (MS) Access
    -Creating Custom fields and Macros
    -SQL queries
    -Load file editing
    -Date and time conversion
    -MS Excel
    -Creating and Manipulating Pivot tables
    -Creating and running formulas
    -MS PowerPoint
  • Creating templates and instructional guides
  • Imaging one-off files to TIFF
  • MS Word
  • Manual imaging templates
  • Macros
  • Track changes and review function
    • TextPad/Ultra Edit
      -Change delimiters and manipulate fields
      -General expressions and modifications
      -Global find-and-replace operations
      -Script creation using bash script or similar, desirable
  • Communicate and troubleshoot problems with DOJ attorneys, paralegals, and other staff regarding work order due dates, technical problems, and requirements.
  • QC production deliverables.
  • Assist in re-engineering eDiscovery workflows for efficiency and accuracy.


  • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in a technical field.
  • At least 3+ years’ experience in an eDiscovery position.
  • 3 years of in-depth experience using the following applications is required:
    • Hosting platforms such as Relativity (highly desirable) or iCONECT or Concordance.
      • RCA certification and other eDiscovery certifications desired.
      • Use of analytics in Relativity including structured and conceptual analytics helpful; especially experience running textual near duplicate analysis and email threading.
      • Processing engines such as LAW PreDiscovery (highly desirable) or Nuix or Venio.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Need to be proactive, organized and detail oriented.
  • Possess the ability to learn new software tools and teach others.
  • Must be willing to work on a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.
