Technical eDiscovery Consultant

PAE has an opportunity for a Project Analyst to manage some of its core litigation support programs with the capability to manage the full life cycle of Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Fixed Unit Price (FUP), Time and Material (T&M), and hybrid programs and projects—grow the business portfolio for which the candidate would be responsible, and assist counterparts to do the same.  This role supports a full spectrum of litigation support and e-discovery solutions to the Federal Government assisting attorneys acquire, organize, develop, and present evidence throughout litigation life cycle from discovery, pre-trial, post-trial and appeals—including both execution and business development and capture activities.  

It also has 9 primary areas of technical responsibility:

  • Define and design the workflow for handling electronic files processing from receipt of data to its subsequent production back to the client
  • Create and write all workflow documentation, training materials, standard operation procedures (SOP’s)
  • Contribute to the on-going development of our Jira & Confluence platform. Contributions will include but not limited to the following: capturing key contract/performance metrics, workflow design and testing, uploading and writing of SOP’s, and building out project pages in Confluence
  • Keep a critical eye on new design specifications and raise quality, performance or architectural concerns
  • Remove impediments that Operations/Scrum teams cannot move themselves
  • Provide high level estimates and planning of future development projects
  • Perform advanced consultation, provide advice and recommendations, and manage workflow design as it relates to legal technology solutions
  • Consult directly with clients and case teams on e-discovery issues, including, but not limited to, preservation, data collection, data culling, staffing needs, technology options, best practices, and application support and training on an as needed basis

The Project Analyst will provide productivity and management analytics and methodologies, quality control, establishment and maintenance of technical and financial plans. The Project Analyst shall be directly responsible for the support to a litigating division as well as being responsible for the overall management and coordination of expert services to all clients. The Project Analyst will also be responsible for the growth of sales for the technical areas for which he/she is responsible.  The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional technical and management skills to include:

  • Deep technical litigation support skills, including the ability to discuss, present, offer solutions, and write compellingly about such tasks
  • Ability to scope, execute, and support all aspects of data collection, EFP, and production related tasks
  • Demonstrated knowledge and problem resolution in all aspects of investigations and litigation support, and related activities
  • Financial management capabilities, including forecasting, analysis, valuation of performance, and invoicing in a large and complex environment
  • High-level skills in metric analytics, financial analysis and execution and scheduling
  • Ability to produce high quality and well thought out plans, reporting, and lessons learned for both executive leadership and clients
  • Collaboration with customers to expand identification and execution of new tools and approaches to new and existing and future problems
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment with organizational leadership for all corporate activities
  • Additionally, the ideal candidate will also possess:
    • Direct personal experience with electronic file processing and hosting
    • Significant experience with proposal goals and strategies, writing, editing, and compliance (and other) reviews
    • Experience presenting to industry, client, and internal personnel of all levels

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of directly related experience or a Master’s Degree and 8 years of directly related experience.
  • Strong programmatic skills in metrics analytics, critical path scheduling, and earned value management
  • Extensive knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and invoicing
  • Ability to formulate, articulate, and execute innovative solutions
  • Success in business development activities to include both structured and semi-structured capture and proposal efforts
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills; easily and skillfully communicates sensitive information, able to tactfully modify beliefs, opinions and behaviors with customers, employees, and team members
  • Negotiation skills; able to address with customers, team members, employees, and vendors in a calm, efficient, and respectful manner
  • Established knowledge of industry tools for hosting, e-discovery, computer forensics, processing, and related activities
  • Experience in streamlining review workflow and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized experience with technical/solutions development, financial, and business development aspects of litigation support
  • Experience working with the federal government, especially the Department of Justice, OIGs, JAGs, and financial oversight agencies
  • Knowledge of Federal litigation support agencies, client needs, and technical solutions
  • Expertise in computer forensic and other collection issues
  • Expertise in SAAS or Cloud Hosting solutions, including fact research, reviews
  • Expertise in analytics as applied to all aspects of e-discovery and litigation support generally
  • Expertise in financial or other common “expert” services
