USAF EOD Instructor Support – USAF EOD Support Services Program

Travel: 20% Required

Locations: CONUS and OCONUS

Clearance: Ability to Obtain/Maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Job Summary:

The United States Air Force (USAF) requires EOD instructional services supporting EOD training centers at CONUS and OCONUS locations. Instructors will prepare EOD and combat skills related instructional programs according to course requirements, instruct students in theoretical and practical aspects covering curriculum and evaluate student performance during field exercises.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

Senior instructors are required to have mastery of a wide range of subject matter, lead contract team and supervise training activities at each assigned training center. Senior instructor will possess well-rounded experience in supervising students, enforces safety precautions during hazardous simulated combat training exercises, extensive expeditionary and combat skills experience.

Instructors will be skilled in conducting quality training on a variety of technical subject matter without supervision, effectively conducts (basic) training individually, or with other instructors during complex training scenarios, has tactical-level expertise, may or may not have expeditionary and combat skills experience. Teaches courses in one or more subjects in commercial, governmental, industrial, or service establishments. Delivers courses in classroom and field environments that focus on the application of practical theory through hands-on exercises and scenario-based practice events. Presents assigned topics in accordance with approved curriculum, maintains proficiency in instructional techniques, incorporates current examples in the teaching process (e.g. develops clarification or real-world examples of application related to the subject matter); develops and maintains classroom techniques that reflect professionalism, good discipline, and enhances the participants learning experience. Alternates teaching techniques to maintain high motivation and interest in the subject areas, prepares and administers remedial assignments, and submits written recommendations for curriculum updates to ensure consistency with changes and innovations in latest curriculum project documents. Researches current intelligence relating to applicable missions and integrates relevant information into courses. Evaluates effectiveness of training to ensure that training objectives are met. Instructors required to teach courses in one or more subjects in commercial, governmental, industrial, or service establishments.


  • Prepares instructional program in accordance with training or other course requirements, assembling materials to be presented.
  • Instructs students in the theoretical and practical aspects covering curriculum.
  • Utilizes teaching methods as individual coaching, group discussions, lectures, demonstrations, seminars, and workshops focusing on crawl, walk, run methodology.
  • Selects or develops teaching aids such as Points of Instruction, Courseware instruction, wall charts, prepared notes, tape recordings, radio, television, films, film strips, and training handbooks.
  • Supervises practical work carried out by students and assists them at points of difficulty.
  • Tests students to evaluate their learning progress and to evaluate effectiveness of instruction. Compiles assessment report regarding each student/team for progress report.
  • Periods of employment in real-world situations to reinforce instruction; active shooter drills, Weapons of Mass destruction base exercises, and any exercise deemed by the Base/Wing Commander located in the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

Experience / Qualifications:

The following experience / qualifications are desired for this position:

  • NAVSCOLEOD Graduate (DD214 and Graduation Certificate Required)
  • 10-years EOD Experience
  • Honorable Discharge
  • Graduate of proficiency in skills such as Tactical (Ranger, TACP, SOF) or Tactical Medical (DD214 required) for non-EOD tasks (mounted, dismounted, tactical combat casualty care)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Be able to speak in front of large groups. Cannot have a fear of speaking and teaching in a large group setting
  • Senior Instructor: Bachelor’s degree, 15-years of experience of which a minimum of 6-years must be specialized in the delivery of military training instructor and services
  • Instructor: Bachelor’s degree, 6-years of experience of which a minimum of 4-years must be specialized in the delivery of military training instruction.
  • Instructor - Bachelor’s degree, 6 years of experience of which a minimum of 4 years must be specialized in the delivery of military training instruction
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills
  • Superior relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Candidate must be a team player with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently

Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
