AAF Firefighting Trainers-TATrain the local level fire brigade in basic firefighting skills. Be knowledgeable of and advise on applicable Fire Prevention regulations in regards to fire safety for Coalition base personnel. Aid in the development of strategic plans for the AAF fire service and train the AAF fire service on execution to develop a professional force. As Coalition security and policies allow, meet and train AAF firefighting leaders and/or other applicable organizations and persons at least 4 times a week for at least 1 hour or IAW current 438 AEW/TAAC-Air training policies and directions. Develop and foster relationships with the AAF to liaise between the 438 AEW/TAAC-Air and the AAF on firefighting issues. Train the AAF Fire service on administration and coordination of fire vehicle maintenance by coordinating with other trainers, the AAF, and MoD Afghan Fire requirements. Work with the AAF and other trainers to develop program equipment requirements for the AAF fire service. Train and assist the AAF Fire leadership to budget for equipment and vehicle maintenance. Assist in developing the AAF capability of establishing and sustaining a 24/7 Fire Department at Wings and Air Detachments. Train and assist the AAF in reaching the capability of meeting a 5-minute response time to airfield and AAF facilities. Train the AAF firefighters to appropriately diagnose and execute the most effective and prudent fire extinguishing strategy through offensive or defensive means. Develop and train AAF fire training programs beginning with initial skills training, recurring training, and advanced fire training. Work with other advisors, Coalition organizations, AAF and the Afghan MOD to advocate for training positions, English language development, and out of country training programs. Collaborate with the J-Lead to determine which classes shall be developed and a schedule for delivery of the courses. Facilitate and execute mobile advising sessions to assist the AAF Fire Chief and Wing/Air Detachment Fire Chiefs traveling to the provinces.
