AAF Standards and Evaluations (SEV)/Operations Group Tactics and Training Advisor

Train and advise aircrew on tactics development, training programs, and the sustainment of Standards and Evaluations programs. Develop AAF sustainable Tactics/SEV programs and instructions.  Advise and assist the AAF on training and scheduling as required to sustain AAF operations. Ensure the Tactics/SEV functions are similar to those in USAF Weapons and Tactics and USAF Standards and Evaluations offices within Operations Groups and flying squadrons and tailored to meet the needs of the AAF. Ensure technological support functions include maintenance of associated mission planning computers and electronic flight bags (EFBs) with associated software.


  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as Instructor pilot/Joint Terminal Attack Controller/Military pilot
  • Must be a US Citizen 
  • Must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements from CRC at Ft. Bliss, TX.    
  • Must continue to maintain CENTCOM Mod 13 and other deployment-related requirements for the Afghanistan theater of operations     
  • Must be able to receive and maintain a current/active Afghanistan visa 
  • Must be in possession of and maintain an appropriate-level current/active security clearance with eligibility to receive/maintain a NATO clearance for the duration of the deployment      
  • Must be willing to work and live in austere and hostile environments in Afghanistan, and understanding of the possibility to be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan, as allowed by the contract 
  • Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment, as required.  Force protection will be provided by authorized sources.   
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing 
  • Must comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders 


  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the military aviation field of either pilot/Joint terminal Air Controller or Aviation TOC staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous OCONUS experience. (Prefer Afghanistan or Iraq)
  • Experience in Military BN/BDE staff. Understand MDMP concept
  • Aviation Observer Controller experience
  • Understand the capabilities of the C130/C208/MI-17/A29/MD530/Scan Eagle
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret and NATO security clearance.
